I thought I'd get somewhere in the 30's - but it appears I am somewhat addicted to blogging... 65%

I noticed the plunger was going up and down quite substantially as I was going through the quiz... Halfway - through extremes :)

Thought I'd see what all the hype is about with Flock... This post was made using the Flock Blog editor... It still seems to have a problem with line breaks :( - dunno if this is Flock or BlogCFC. Also editing of existing posts doesn't seen to work.

My Programmer Personality is PHTB

After reading a blog post on Nick Tong's Blog I took the Doolwind's Programmer Personality Test and here are my results:

Your programmer personality type is: PHTB You're a Planner. You may be slow, but you'll usually find the best solution. If something's worth doing, it's worth doing right. You like coding at a High level. The world is made up of objects and components, you should create your programs in the same way. You work best in a Team. A good group is better than the sum of it's parts. The only thing better than a genius programmer is a cohesive group of genius programmers. You are a liBeral programmer. Programming is a complex task and you should use white space and comments as freely as possible to help simplify the task. We're not writing on paper anymore so we can take up as much room as we need.

So pretty much directly the opposite of Nick :)

New Layout...

As is probably obvious, I have now updated the layout for the blog. At first I looked at a complete re-skin, using an open source template such as Nautica 2.2 liquid. Then when I looked at what would be involved, I decided to keep it simple, and just change the header and the colour scheme. (besides, it wouldn't do to look too similar to Ray Camden's blog ;-) All done before midnight (just!)... A big thank you goes to Ray Camden for producing a great piece of software, and releasing it to the community - thanks Ray. The photo is of the sun rising over Snowdonia, taken early morning (before 6am) from Anglesey (Wales, UK). The quality may not be brilliant - but until I have re indexed my photos (my laptop was replaced recently on insurance - and with it went Photoshop Album) it was the best I could find - Its amazing how hard it is to find a decent photograph that looks OK in a wide shot.

Well... finally... I have a Blog. For a while, whenever I have discovered something, or particularly when I have gone through a lot of pain with a technical issue, I have kept on saying to myself - if only I had a Blog - I could let everyone know about it, and maybe save them going through the same thing. In the last few weeks, I have been working with Nick Tong a fair bit on www.cfframeworks.com, and I must have said to him in passing - "If only I had a blog, - I'd post about this". I don't know if Nick just got tired of hearing this, or if its just because he's a nice guy ;-) - but last time I said this, 30 minutes later I had this blog, hosted on his server. So a big thank you to Nick for Hosting (and setting up) the blog - now its down to me to keep up with it, get it looking pretty etc. I know I get a lot of help from posts other folks make, so hopefully I will be able to give something back to the community :) Dan.
